Welcome to the Tavistock Probus Club

Feel free to take a look around our site and get in contact if you have any questions

What is the Tavistock Probus Club?

Welcome to the Tavistock Probus Club. Our club provides retired professionals and business men the opportunity to meet on a monthly basis to talk about topics of interest. We have key speakers that have been chosen to present to the group based around the topic of discussion that month.

Where do we meet and how often?

Tavistock Probus Club meets on a monthly basis at the Bedford Hotel which is located right in the heart of Tavistock. The talks are normally held on the second Tuesday of each month.

The talks start at 10.30 am in the Portrait Room. Coffee refreshments are available from 10 am.

For those of you who do not know Tavistock very well, it is an ancient stannary town that is located on the outskirts of the Dartmoor national park and situated on the River Tavy, which is where its name derives from.

Head to our 'About Us' page where you can learn more into the history of this scenic town and history behind our meeting point, The Bedford Hotel.

What do we talk about?

We pre-arrange a variety of interesting subjects to discuss at our Tavistock Probus Club meetings. Some of our past talks have been about Dartmoor Search And Rescue, Countries, Historic subjects, and much more.

*Regular lunches are also enjoyed in both the Bedford Hotel and the Tavistock Golf Club.

We are very open to suggestions, so if there is anything you'd like to discuss, we'd be more than happy to hear your ideas.
